In 2016-17, Indian Astrobiology Research Centre (est. 2006) inspired the formation of Indian Astrobiology Research Foundation. IARF is registered as a Section 8 Company Not-For-Profit organization.
The stated aim of IARF is to promote the activities of research & outreach in the field of space and natural sciences. National Space & Sciences Curriculum (NASCA) and Bijayan Space Missions are the two flagship initiatives of IARF.
In January 2019, IARF announced that a Centre of Excellence for UN Global Goals (CEUN) in India will be established in mid-2019. We now have an inauguration date, July 21, 2019, Mumbai.
