I welcome you to Rare Earth World Space Quiz 2021 which is part of the International Year of Life in Space (IYLS 2021).

This is not just a Quiz, this is a Quest!

I provide you no syllabus, no topics and not even any snippets after each question, this is not an exercise in facts / trivia, for that there is google and several other online quizzes. It is critical that you find answers for yourself, to be able to connect the dots through the hints.

We do space sciences, not because it is easy but because it is hard!

Remember, to succeed in academics & competitive exams or to become a space professional, say an Astronaut or for that matter Space entrepreneur, critical thinking and positive action, is essential.

So, please don’t be too bothered about answering the questions correctly, it is okay if you get some answers wrong nor it is necessary to ‘understand’ everything immediately, in fact it is detrimental to critical thinking and scientific progress!

The core idea is to encourage first-principle thinking and appreciate uncertainty, these qualities are essential to know the rapidly-expanding space sector and participate in space exploration.
Come along, let us wander through galaxies and stars, count some space dollars, stay a bit away from black holes and think of taking a dip in the lakes of Europa, let us indulge in space exploration.
